It’s the big day – closing day! You’re likely to alternate between feeling excited and nervous on closing day. That’s why we send you sample closing documents in advance – so you can read through them when you’re more relaxed.
Another way you can be more prepared is to know in advance what you need to bring with you to closing. It’s not a long list, so gather everything the night before:
- A bank check for the estimated amount you need for closing. The check should be made payable to you or to your title company.
- The closing disclosure that your lender sent you. This document will help you compare figures.
- Your check book in case you need additional money for anything.
- Your government-issued photo ID.
If you need to bring anything else, we’ll let you know. There is one more thing you should pack: Your patience. There’s a lot to sign and a lot to understand. Be patient and don’t rush the process; it will end with keys in your hand!
